Royal Summer Festival – August Bank Holiday

Royal Festival 2013 1Yes, it’s that time again when the great and good of Charlton Kings flock to the Royal for a jolly good knees up to finish off the summer and enjoy our last Bank Holiday of the year. And this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

Look forward to a great weekend in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice.

Our ale and cider tent will be here throughout the weekend and we’ll be firing up the pizza oven over the weekend as well as our normal menu available in the pub.

It all kicks off with ‘A Slice of Fun’ our pizza decorating activity for the kids (well ok, and big kids if you insist!).  Next up we will once again host our (now) annual Dog Show on Sunday 26th August. Supported and judged by Dragon Vet Centre, Charlton Kings the show starts at 4pm with categories such as ‘Waggiest Tail‘, ‘Prettiest Lady’, ‘Most Handsome Chap’ and ‘Best Trick’. It’s just £1 per entry per category with some great prizes lined up and all proceeds going to Sue Ryder. After the Dog Show, stay around until 5.30pm and listen to the chilled sounds of Joe Summers as he plays an acoustic set in the garden. We will also set up some Garden Games for the little ones, and OK, the big ones can join in too. And if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be hosting The Royal ‘Mega Quiz’ from 8pm!

On Monday 27th we have a fantastic line up of live music including Union of Strings, Paul Newman & friends, Soular, The Rhythm Slingers, Tom Can’t Make It and Debrief.

There’s plenty to entertain the little ones with Cheltenham Face Painting here from 2pm and then once again the fantastic Music Man at 3pm.

See the full schedule here.

Phew, what a line up! See you there.
